Moong Dal Halwa Recipe-Moong Dal Halwa

Moong dal halwa recipe is a classic Indian sweet dish made with moong dal , sugar ,ghee and dry fruits ,its a mouth watering recipes loves by everyone.

Moong dal halwa Ingredients:-

  • 150 grams sugar
  • 150 grams ghee
  • 100 grams full cream milk
  • 10 to 20 cashews (finely chopped)
  • almonds – 20-25 (finely chopped)
  • raisins – 2 tbsp pista –
  • 10-15 cardamom.
  • Method:-

To make moong dal halwa, first clean the moong dal well with a cloth or tissue paper.

After this, fry the lentils in the pan continuously until they turn golden brown.

Add 3-4 tablespoons of ghee in the pan and fry the ground lentils till they turn light golden brown.

When the dal becomes golden brown and gives a fragrance and keep it in a plate to cool.

When it cool down grind the dal in a mixer.

After this, again add 3-4 tablespoons of ghee in the pan.

Add the grinded dal into it and again roast for some time

Add sugar and milk to the pan.

After this add 1 cup of water and cook slowly.

Stirr continuosly


Add some ghee to another pan and fry the dry fruits.

When the halwa thickens, add sugar to it and keep stirring.

After this add some dry fruits and nuts to the halwa,add a little ghee[if required] and cardamom powder to the halwa.

Serve when it cools.


Moong Dal Halwa With Jaggery – Instead of sugar you can take jiggery also but the qty of jaggery will be high.
